Times Beach Warung

Times Beach Warung is a Gorrow Studio project conceived as a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Balinese beach warung. Set beneath the Pura Dalem trees on Canggu’s waterfront, the open-air venue was designed to sit lightly within its setting: informal and directly connected to the beach. The project brings together architecture and interiors to create a space that feels immediate and familiar, rather than imposed on the landscape.
The studio worked with a restrained palette of tactile, locally familiar materials and simple structures, allowing shade, ocean air, sand, and daily movement to shape the atmosphere. Low-slung seating and open edges keep the view and rhythm of the shoreline central to the experience, while considered details give the venue a distinct identity without losing the ease of a local warung. Times Beach Warung is an exercise in restraint: a place shaped around community, surf, and slower time. Coffee after a surf, long afternoons, sunset drinks, and outdoor film nights unfold within a setting designed as an everyday gathering place by the ocean.
